How we met
Tom
I am an engineer/consultant/technologist and general hobbyist. If it moves, has design, and can be built I will be the first person to join a conversation about it!
I love to explore the world, and learn new things. Every subject has a perspective and every interest has its beauty. As many of you can attest I love making meaningful connections. Having each of you attend our special day fills my cup.
Cheers
Amy
I am a Registered nurse by trade and an adventure seeker by choice. My hobbies are my passions and anyone that knows me always hears about them. Whether its travel to a new country, visiting family, exploring nature, or reading my next favourite book.
I love cuddling up by a fire or going on a spontaneous walk to somewhere new. Family and close friends are important to me, that’s why I cant thank each of you enough for taking time to attend our special day.

How did we meet?
As most things are now a days, it seems that meeting someone new at the bar, or a blind date through a friend has gone the way of the dodo bird.
Tom & I met through an online dating platform. We met through a set amount of chosen criteria that provided us potential matches. After seeing what Saskatoon had to offer we ended up both matching.
Amy was reluctant to go online dating from recent bad dates, but luckily her friends convinced her otherwise.
Tom was confused when he matched with amy as the app kept asking “to verify you are him”. He says its because the app couldn’t process how handsome he had looked in his profile.
Online dating ended up assigning us as a match and conversation ensued. After talking for a while we asked each other to go a walk and coffee. To our relief before this happened we discussed the other with family & friends. It seemed we had a lot more in common than expected and many mutual friends. Having each of our friends/family vouch and speak highly for the other helped provide comfort before the first date. We were both in agreement there is a mixed bag out there in the dating world! As for the first date you can read below…
On first date i showed up promptly 10-min before our scheduled date. I knew from others Tom liked punctuality.
When I showed up i knocked on the door and no answer. I proceeded to repeat this 2 more times and felt I was given the runaround and the wrong address.
To my excitement a tall, dark, and handsome man finally answered the door. When he said hello my initial question was “are you tom?”, to which he gave me the strangest look and replied, “um, ya…”. Luckily that didn’t stifle the magic that ensued.

On our first date Amy had showed up early, unbeknownst to myself. I was getting ready and when i went to the back porch to grab my shoes i had heard the faintest noise of a knock. I paused, looked at the clock, and thought “Oh shoot thats probably my date”. When I answered the door there was a beautiful, dainty woman with a look of concern on her face. I greeted her with “hello”, and her first question was “are you Tom?”. I was confused as to who else she could have been knocking for or that looked like myself…
From my point of view the first date went excellent. I had the priveldge of letting amy do all the talking. I knew women liked good listeners.
The date was easy and the conversation was seamless. We spent 3hr on my front porch after the date finished talking about life. I remember feeling an overwhelming sense of relief and calm after the date. I knew there was something special there.

The Proposal
Dec.20.2023
Tom popped the big question by playing an old prank. The night before they set off for Houston Amy was asked if she wanted her Christmas present early. She replied no and was okay to wait… Tom replied that he felt she would be able to use it on the trip!
Amy was then handed a 10lb-ish crate of cardboard. Opening the first box she found a monkey wrench, crescent wrench, hammer and other various tools. She replied “Oh, were doing more reno’s?”. She then proceeded to open an amplifier box, then shoe box, then gift box, and finally the ring box. By this time she was confused and as Amy states, “Is he proposing?, and told Tom, I didnt know I needed this”. It wasn’t soon after the big question was popped, a “Yes, absolutely” was given, and then they were off to Houston to announce to family.
“ Family/Friends is a pilar of any good relationship. We cant thank you all enough for sharing our special day. ”
